Andy's 9ers wins Connie Mack crown
STRUTHERS -- Andy's 9ers defeated the Ohio Thunder to finish 7-0 and claim the championship of the 44th annual Connie Mack state baseball tournament at Cene Park.
Kevin Henry scattered eight hits while striking out seven and walking one in the complete game victory. Ethan Santora had three hits and scored a pair of runs while John Turk hit a two-run triple for Andy's.
Tim Hromada and Matt Delewski had two hits each for the Ohio Thunder, who finished as the tournament runner-up.
Both teams will advance to the regional tournament in Cincinnati.
Andy's 9ers 7, R & amp;J Trucking 1
Trailing 1-0, Andy's scored four times in the fourth and added three more runs in the sixth to eliminate R & amp;J Trucking.
Dan Ezzo had two hits and drove home the first two runs for Andy's with a single, while Greg Turk added two hits for the winners. Trey Archer tossed a four-hitter for the win. He had three strikeouts and did not allow an earned run.
Jim Pasquine had two hits for R & amp;J, which finished in third and also qualified for the regional tournament. Jeremy Savaet went the first five innings and took the loss, allowing two earned runs.
