WNBA ROUNDUP | Tuesday's games

Monarchs 74, Storm 61
SEATTLE -- Rebekkah Brunson scored a season-high 15 points off the bench as Sacramento won its fifth straight. Seattle played without All-Star Lauren Jackson, who was a late scratch with a sore left foot. Jackson, Seattle's leading scorer averaging 20.2 points, warmed up before the game but was replaced by Tiffani Johnson in the starting lineup. It was the second game this year Jackson has missed a game. Brunson had scored 14 points in her last five games combined, but made all seven of her shot attempts. Hamchetou Maiga-Ba added 11 points and Kristin Haynie scored 10. Yolanda Griffith had 12 rebounds, and no Sacramento starter scored in double figures. Betty Lennox led Seattle with 16 points.
Fever 71, Mercury 65
INDIANAPOLIS -- Tamika Catchings scored 17 points and reserve Linda Frohlich added a career-high 15 for Indiana. Catchings also shut down WNBA scoring leader Diana Taurasi, who failed to score in double figures for the first time since the 2005 season. Taurasi, who came into the game averaging 24 points, finished with seven on 3-of-14 shooting. She picked up three personal fouls and a technical in the first quarter and played just over 28 minutes. Penny Taylor led the Mercury with 18 points, and Kamila Vodichkova had 14.
Silver Stars 67, Comets 64
SAN ANTONIO -- Chantelle Anderson scored 17 points and went 9-for-9 from the free-throw line, leading San Antonio over Houston. The Silver Stars (11-11) won despite going through a 12 minute, 30 second stretch -- that spanned the first three quarters -- without making a field goal. San Antonio broke a three-game losing streak. Houston lost on the road for the seventh time in eight games. The Comets (13-11) had a chance to tie or go ahead on a 3-pointer, but Shannon Johnson stole the ball from Tamecka Dixon with 15 seconds left. Agnieszka Bibrzycka scored 15 points for San Antonio and Sophia Young added 10. Houston was led by Sheryl Swoopes with 15 points.
