Conclusion set tonight; R & amp;J lone area survivor



The Astros Falcons were eliminated, yet still qualified for the regional.
STRUTHERS -- R & amp;J Trucking is the lone local Class B League team still alive in the 44th annual Connie Mack Tournament.
Today at 3 p.m. at Cene Park, R & amp;J Trucking will play Andy's Niners.
In the other seventh-round game, Team Ohio will play Thunder Select. Ohio Thunder drew the seventh-round bye.
The eighth round will be played at 5:30 p.m. as the tournament concludes this evening.
In all, seven teams from the tournament will qualify for the regional tournaments in Cincinnati and Battle Creek, Mich.
Ohio Thunder 4, Astro Falcons 3
The Ohio Thunder scored an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth inning to edge the Astro Falcons.
Kyle Smith had a pair of hits while Drew Turocy drove home two runs with a triple for the Falcons.
Kolten Hoffman suffered the loss as he went the distance with one strikeout.
Luke Yetzer had four strikeouts in the complete-game win. Although eliminated, the Astro Falcons qualified for the regional.
R & amp;J Trucking 11, North Coast Buckeyes 6
R & amp;J Trucking stayed alive by pounding out 14 hits.
Tyler Manfull had a pair of triples with three runs batted in while Ed Rohan had two hits and drove home three runs.
C.J. Morris added three hits while Josh Fyffe and winning pitcher Jim Pasquine had two hits each. Pasquine went the distance with three strikeouts.
Collin Stafford had two hits for the Buckeyes.
Team Ohio 13, Wharmby Sports 5
Team Ohio eliminated Wharmby Sports by amassing 12 hits.
Eric Pirtz had a single and double for Wharmby while Garen Ream had two runs batted in.
