United Way to set pace for annual campaign

BOARDMAN -- The Youngstown/Mahoning Valley United Way Pacesetter Campaign kick-off breakfast and training session are at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn.
The Pacesetter Campaign is an early effort to "set the pace" for the annual campaign, which will get under way Sept. 13 with the community-wide Day of Caring, said JoAnn Stock, director of resource development and marketing.
Nearly 80 local businesses, schools, and non-profit organizations are set to conduct early workplace campaigns for the Pacesetter effort. Representatives from these organizations will attend the kick-off breakfast for a short training session and to receive campaign materials.
The 2006 campaign goal will be announced during the meeting, and United Way representatives will provide details of the 2006 campaign incentive program, Stock said.
