St. Rose Festival set this weekend



GIRARD -- The St. Rose Church Summer Festival will take place on the church grounds, 48 E. Main St., from Thursday through Sunday.
Featured throughout the festival will be food of all kinds, including cavatelli, sausage and peppers, fried dough, pizza, hot dogs, cabbage and noodles, Italian cheese puffs, steak hoagies, smelts, French fries, cake, pies, lemon shakes, pop, coffee and beer.
Kids Nite will be Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. with Lisko Amusement offering rides all night for a $10 wrist band.
The Girard Community Band performs from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. The Great Pretenders will perform at 8 p.m.
Saturday events will feature a 4 p.m. Polka Mass inside the church; and performances by Del Rezek polka band and the Redlights.
Sunday events will include contemporary Christian music from 1 to 3 p.m. by Power of Praise and music from 6 to 10 p.m. by Al Hreno Orchestra and the Redlights.
