Poland upends Tallmadge, 12-3

CLYDE -- The Poland 11-12 year-old Little League Softball team defeated District 3 champion Tallmadge 12-3 on Sunday in the state tournament.
Erin Gabriel hit a two-run homer while Taylor Deemer connected for a three-run shot.
Kaylee Benson and Adrianna Sikora each had two hits with Emily Chandler, Meredith Testa and Marissa Trevis each contributing a single.
Gabriel threw a complete game, fanning 13 in the win. Alison Covan played a solid third base and Abbie Frank also played well defensively for the Bulldogs.
Poland's next winner's bracket game is Tuesday against either District 11 champion Wheelersburg or District 7 champ Bucyrus.
