Children host picnic for Poulakos 60th

XBOARDMAN -- Mr. and Mrs. Donald Poulakos Sr. of 7646 W. Parkside Drive celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 24 with a family picnic at the Boardman home of their son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Sue Poulakos, who hosted the event along with the honorees' other son, Donald Poulakos Jr., also of Boardman.
Six grandchildren and one great-grandchild complete the family.
Mr. Poulakos and the former Edna K. Cahoon were married June 22, 1946, at St. Vincent De Paul Church in Cleveland.
They both retired in 1983 from Poulakos Bakery in Youngstown, where he was president and she was vice president. They are members of St. Charles Church.
Mr. Poulakos was a baker in the Navy and served on the USS Bonhomme Richard in the South Pacific during World War II.
