Today and Monday: Air Advisory Days

YOUNGSTOWN -- Today and Monday are Air Quality Advisory Days in the Mahoning Valley.
The advisory means ground-level ozone levels are forecast to be 100 or above on the Air Quality Index, or unhealthy for sensitive groups, according to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
A strong upper-level ridge of high pressure over much of the eastern United States will produce the highest temperatures so far this summer, with highs in the low to mid-90s on today and Monday.
These temperatures will be accompanied by mostly sunny skies and will lead to stagnant conditions in the Youngstown-Warren region, enhancing the formation of ground-level ozone. Air quality conditions should improve midweek as a series of disturbances increase cloud cover and lower temperatures produce scattered showers and thunderstorms.
