YOUNGSTOWN -- Seraphim, under the direction of Kris Harper, will present its summer concert, "Spirit and Song" at 3 p.m. July 30 at St. Augustine Episcopal Church, 614 Parmelee Ave. The program will feature African-American spirituals and American folk songs.
The program is free and open to the public. Because of limited seating capacity, tickets are required. Get tickets from Seraphim members or by calling (330) 707-2144.
St. Augustine, one of the oldest black churches in the United States today, is affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio in Cleveland. It operates under a shared ministry with St. James Episcopal Church, Boardman.
Recently, paperwork has been filed to form a nonprofit organization names Friends of Historic St. Augustine's and a board is being assembled to preserve this historic structure.
Mill Creek activities offer fun in the sun
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mill Creek MetroParks will host Sunfest on July 30 at Wick Recreation Area. The celebration of summer, focusing on family activities, is sponsored by 7UP, WFMJ and WBCB. For details, call (330) 702-3000.
The Closest to the Pin Tournament will be from 9 a.m. to noon at the Par 3 Golf Course and no registration is required. There will be a one-mile Sunfest hike at 11 a.m. through the Wick area. Bands performing at the Judge Morley Pavilion will be the First Degree, sounds of the '60s and '70s rock, at 5:30 p.m. and No Bad Ju Ju, a horn-driven rhythm and blues and soul group, at 7 p.m.
Summer Soul Festset at Chevrolet Centre
YOUNGSTOWN -- Mark Aug. 4 on your calendar. That's the day when the Summer Soul Fest takes the stage at the Chevrolet Centre.
Featured performers will be The Manhattans, whose hits included "Shining Star"; Midnight Star with "No Parking [on the Dance Floor]" and "Operator;" Evelyn "Champagne" King with "Shame" and "Love Come Down;" Al Wilson with "Show and Tell;" Peaches and Herb with "Reunited" and "Shake Your Groove Thing;" and Bloodstone with "Natural High."

Seeing double is twicethe fun at Twin Days
TWINSBURG -- The 31st annual Twins Days Festival is scheduled Aug. 4-6. The event, billed as the largest annual gathering of twins in the world, will feature a movie theme, "Take 2," this year.

Conneaut Lake Parksparkles with Pure Gold

At Cleveland Zoo,touch aquatic wonders
CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Metropark Zoo offers the interactive exhibit, "Touch! Amazing Rays and Sharks," through Sept. 1.
The one-of-a kind opportunity allows visitors to connect with the underwater world of sharks and stingrays. Zoo visitors may observe, touch and feel and sea creatures as they swim through the specially constructed saltwater pool.
