Five injured in two-car crash on Route 88

JOHNSTON -- Five people were hospitalized with injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at state Route 88 and Ridge Road.
Five ambulances sent to the scene transported the victims to various area hospitals, according to the Trumbull County 911 dispatch center.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol Warren Post said the names of those involved were not available as of late Saturday. However, none suffered life-threatening injuries.
The patrol said the crash occurred when a GMC Sierra southbound on Ridge Road failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a Chevy Cavalier that was westbound on Route 88.
All four occupants of the car and a passenger in the truck were taken to hospitals, the patrol said.
