MLB ROUNDUP \ Sunday's other games
AMERICAN LEAGUE
White Sox 6, Red Sox 5, 19 innings
CHICAGO -- Tadahito Iguchi hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 19th inning in a 6-hour, 19-minute marathon -- the longest by innings in U.S. Cellular Field history. The White Sox loaded the bases with one out in the 19th off Rudy Seanez (2-1), the eighth Boston pitcher, using consecutive singles by Alex Cintron, Rob Mackowiak and Scott Podsednik. Iguchi then singled between shortstop and third base to end a game that started in sunshine but finished with the lights on. Cliff Politte (2-2), the eighth White Sox pitcher, worked the top of the 19th for the win. It was the longest game by both innings and time in the majors this season. It was Boston's longest game by innings since going 19 innings on Aug. 1, 2000, against Seattle and the White Sox's longest since playing 19 at Milwaukee in May 1991. U.S. Cellular Field opened in 1991.
Devil Rays 6, Yankees 5
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Jorge Cantu and Aubrey Huff homered and drove in three runs apiece, helping Tampa Bay rally from a five-run deficit. Cantu's two-run homer off Ron Villone erased a 5-3 New York lead in the fifth inning. Cantu broke the tie in the seventh when he singled after Rocco Baldelli doubled and Scott Proctor (2-2) walked Huff intentionally.
Rangers 5, Twins 2
ARLINGTON, Texas -- Mark Teixeira and Gary Matthews Jr. hit two-run homers off All-Star left-hander Johan Santana. Teixeira's first homer in 13 games put the Rangers up 3-2 in the sixth. Matthews connected an inning later. It was the first time in 40 starts -- since June 2, 2005, against Cleveland -- that Santana allowed more than one homer in a game.
Blue Jays 11, Royals 3
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Roy Halladay became the majors' first 12-game winner and Aaron Hill had four hits for the second consecutive game. Troy Glaus, Eric Hinske and Bengie Molina homered for the Blue Jays, who finished with 16 hits. John McDonald went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
Mariners 3, Tigers 2
SEATTLE -- Gil Meche held Detroit to four hits in seven innings and Yuniesky Betancourt's elusive single drove in the go-ahead run and snapped Seattle's six game losing streak. Meche (8-4) was helped by a two-run homer by seldom-used catcher Rene Rivera, and by Eduardo Perez, who had two hits and scored the go-ahead run in his first start since coming to Seattle on June 30.
Angels 4, Athletics 2
OAKLAND, Calif. -- Kendry Morales hit a go-ahead, two-run triple to help Los Angeles' Ervin Santana win his sixth straight decision. The Angels wrapped up a 6-1 road swing heading into the All-Star break for only their second winning trip this season.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Mets 7, Marlins 6

Braves 8, Reds 3
ATLANTA -- Andruw Jones hit a two-run homer, and Atlanta roughed up Cincinnati All-Star Bronson Arroyo. Jeff Francoeur and Scott Thorman also hit solo homers for the Braves, who have won three straight series. The Braves have won seven of 10 games but are just 13-26 since May 28.
Padres 10, Nationals 9
WASHINGTON -- Mike Piazza hit a ninth-inning, pinch-hit home run for San Diego. The NL West-leading Padres overcame a 7-1 deficit with four runs in the sixth, one in the eighth and four in the ninth to run their winning streak to five games.
Cubs 11, Brewers 4
MILWAUKEE -- Glendon Rusch filled in for Mark Prior with five solid innings and Chicago won its third straight. Prior was scratched before the game with a strained muscle in his left side, sustained while he was taking batting practice Saturday.
Diamondbacks 8, Rockies 5
DENVER -- Orlando Hudson and Luis Gonzalez homered, and Arizona scored five runs in the seventh inning to complete a three-game sweep. Craig Counsell went 3-for-4 and Chad Tracy had three hits and two RBIs for the Diamondbacks, who finished with 13 hits. Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Dodgers 3, Giants 1
LOS ANGELES -- Aaron Sele pitched six strong innings and Nomar Garciaparra extended his hitting streak to 21 games as Los Angeles defeated All-Star Jason Schmidt. Sele (6-2) allowed four hits and one run, and struck out a season-high seven before being relieved by Brad Penny. Sele is 6-0 with a 1.65 ERA in seven starts at Dodger Stadium this season.
