Area woman charged with endangering

YOUNGSTOWN -- Nakeia Hall, 24, of the 1400 block of Woodcrest Avenue, is in the Mahoning County jail after being arrested around 11 a.m. Sunday on a charge of child endangering.
When police arrived on the 700 block of Crandall Avenue, they found a month-old baby in a child restraint seat on the sidewalk about eight feet from a house.
police spoke to Hall she told them she left three other children, ages 7, 5 and 3, inside the Crandall Avenue home of their father along with the baby.
Hall told police she left the home because the man pulled out a handgun and threatened to shoot out her tires. Hall did not report the threat to police.
The man was not at the Crandall Avenue address when police arrived, but a woman there told police he said he was not the father of the baby.
Witnesses on Crandall Avenue said they saw the man put the baby back into Hall's vehicle and she, in turn, took the baby back out and set the carrier in the sunlight on the sidewalk. Hall then drove away.
Hall also was issued a traffic summons for improper operation of a motor vehicle on a temporary permit and safety belt violation for having a 1-year-old child riding in a vehicle without a child restraint seat.
The Children Services Board spoke to Hall, and the children were released to a family member.
