Women's artwork showcased



There is no fee to make a submission to the show.
WARREN -- YWCA of Warren and the Trumbull Art Gallery will present the second annual "Create for the Gate" on July 22, a one-day exhibit of women's artwork on the wrought-iron fence outside city hall.
Any woman over age 16 is eligible to submit artwork in the categories of painting, drawing, mixed media and photography.
The artwork must be hand-delivered between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. July 22 at city hall. The artwork must then be picked up with a photo identification between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the same day.
Any work not picked up that evening will become the property of the YWCA and the art gallery.
The rules are:
*Exhibitions shall only include original works of art created by the submitting artist.
*Each person may only submit two pieces.
*All work must be mounted on sturdy board, which will permit it to be hung from the fence.
*Maximum size of all work must be 11 feet by 7 feet.
*Labels must be completed to agree with the entry blanks and presented with the art when delivered.
Any work presented that does not conform to the rules can't be admitted.

There is no entry fee, but there will be a 10 percent commission to the YWCA and art gallery on any work sold.
