Monarchs 73, Mystics 60
WASHINGTON -- Kara Lawson and Nicole Powell each scored 12 points to lead Sacramento over Washington. DeMya Walker scored 11 points and Ticha Penicheiro added season highs with nine rebounds and seven assists as Sacramento (11-8) won its second in a row. Yolanda Griffith had nine rebounds for the Monarchs. Alana Beard led Washington (9-10) with 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. She also committed seven of the Mystics' 23 turnovers.
Shock 92, Lynx 80
MINNEAPOLIS -- Swin Cash scored 19 points and Kendra Holland-Corn added 15 in Detroit's rout of Minnesota. The Shock (12-6) sent the Lynx to a sixth loss in seven games by posting their highest scoring game of the season. Katie Smith, traded from Minnesota to Detroit last July 30, finished with 11 points and five assists in her first game back at the Target Center. Cheryl Ford added 14 points for the Shock. Lynx rookie Seimone Augustus led all scorers with 26 points. Minnesota (6-12) cut its deficit to 11 at 5:05 of the third quarter, but a pair of jumpers from Deanna Nolan and Cash extended the Shock's lead to 15.
Silver Stars 94, Comets 75
SAN ANTONIO -- Agnieska Bibrzycka scored 17 points and was 4-of-5 from 3-point range to lead San Antonio to its fourth straight victory. San Antonio (10-8) hadn't won four straight since 2002 when it played as the Utah Starzz. Sophia Young added 16 points, and Vickie Johnson scored 13 in her WNBA-record 500th game. The Comets (12-8) played without leading scorer Tina Thompson, who strained her right calf during the second half of the Comets' loss at Los Angeles on Wednesday. Then with 7:58 to go on Friday, Michelle Snow was ejected after scoring a team-high 19 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Snow was called for a flagrant foul with when she tangled with Chantelle Anderson while going for a rebound.
Sky 78, Liberty 73
CHICAGO -- Candice Dupree had 20 points and six rebounds to help Chicago beat New York. Deanna Jackson had 13 points for Chicago (3-14), which won for the second time in three games after dropping 13 of its first 14 to start the season. Eastern Conference All-Star Becky Hammon had 18 points for the Liberty (4-13). Cathrine Kraayeveld added 14 points as New York dropped its fourth consecutive game.
