Kanetsky drives in winning run



STRUTHERS -- Marc Kanetsky singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning as Rondinelli Tuxedo defeated Mink Financial 3-2 to win their Class B League first-round playoff series two games to one.
Rondinelli advanced to the second round to take on Astro Falcons. Game one of the best-of-three series will be today at 5:30 p.m. on Cene 1. Livi Steel will play R & amp;J Trucking in the other series beginning at 8 p.m. today also on Cene 1.
Rondinelli tied the score in the bottom of the seventh inning on a two-out single by Cory Nesbitt. Nesbitt had three hits in the contest. Chuck Olesky and Andy Dobson finished with two hits for Rondinelli while Tyrone Wright pitched a complete game with six strikeouts and just one walk.
Mink got two hits from Ed Deluca while Corey Vukovic suffered the loss, going the distance with six strikeouts and he did not issue a walk.
Mickey Mantle state tournament
Eleven teams will open play today in the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) state Mickey Mantle (15-16) state tournament at Cene Park.
Six teams out of the Class little b league are in the field -- Rondinelli Tuxedo, R & amp;J Trucking, Astro Falcons, Dave Sugar Excavating, Livi Steel, and Mink Financial.
The top five teams advance to the AABC Regional in Cincinnati.
