Ikebana gardeners hold exhibit of Japanese designs
YOUNGSTOWN -- A exhibit of Japanese floral designs was held by Ikebana of Youngstown June 10 and 11 at the Davis Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens, Mill Creek Park.
Shoji screens served as backdrops for the arrangements, which were prepared for viewing and not for judging.
The five schools of flower arrangements featured at the event were Ikemobo, Chiko, Ohara, Sogetsu and Ichiyo.
The designs were created by Esther Bertch, Elsie DeHoff, Dorothy Haddox, Pearl Marlos, Beverly Patrick, Sheila Bowman, Marian Franzen, Beverly Italiano, Dianne Mullins and Kathleen Willingham.
Ikebana Youngstown is a member of the Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of most months at the Davis Center.
