Fire kills 2 Alliance boys

ALLIANCE (AP) -- A neighbor persuaded two sisters to jump from a burning two-story house, but two young brothers died before firefighters could find them, authorities said.
City firefighters discovered the bodies of the two boys -- Mason Adger, 6, and his brother, Miles Adger, 4 -- on the second floor.
Neighbor Sylvester Hundley, 55, said he ran across the street when he saw the smoke Friday and persuaded Brooke Adger, 10, and Gabrielle Adger, 12, to jump off the roof of the porch.
Brooke was taken to Akron Children's Hospital, where she was in the intensive care unit Saturday. She suffered a cut artery, her aunt Dionne Guinn said. Gabrielle was not hospitalized.
The children's mother, Nicole Gibbons, and her husband, Anthony Gibbons, were not at home, authorities said.
