July 2
Criminal damaging/aggravated menacing: A Church Hill Road man told police a Girard man, 25, threatened to kill him and his family before tossing a pair of pliers at his van's window.
Assault: Witnesses told officers a 40-year-old Girard man struck another Girard man with a baseball bat and choked him at a home in the 100 block of East Second Street. The victim had a minor injury.
Criminal damaging: A couple in the 200 block of East Kline Street discovered a fence was damaged on their property.
Arrest: Authorities apprehended a 24-year-old woman, no city given, on charges of criminal trespassing, aggravated menacing, assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after an East Main Street man alleged she tried to damage his vehicle and home. An officer was injured while chasing the woman when she tried to flee the station, police said.
July 3
Burglary: A woman noticed that someone entered her residence in the 700 block of Trumbull Avenue through a bedroom window and that $20 was missing.
July 4
Criminal damaging: Someone destroyed a surveillance camera at Girard Baseball Association on Park Avenue.
Breaking and entering: A man in the 1600 block of North State Street reported his garage and tool shed had been broken into. Missing were a self-propelled lawn mower and a weed trimmer, for a loss of $775.
Criminal mischief: Police discovered a broken window at Dairy Queen, 201 S. State St.
July 5
Damage: A man in the 900 block of North Highland Avenue reported burn marks and a crack on his Ford Explorer's windshield, likely the result of fireworks.
LIBERTY
June 30
Theft: A Struthers man said a 37-year-old woman took a $50 bill from his vehicle as he gave her a ride to her West Montrose Street residence.
Burglary: A briefcase was missing after someone apparently cut a screen door and broke into a home in the 5000 block of Fifth Avenue.
Drug paraphernalia: Officers took a Hubbard man, 37, into custody on Gypsy Lane after pulling over his truck for having a loud exhaust. He faced charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under suspension after police say they found a suspected crack pipe.
Burglary: A Youngstown man reported someone broke into a rental property in the 5800 block of Belmont Avenue and removed 200 feet of copper pipe, for a loss of about $1,000.
July 1
Domestic violence: A 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man were arrested at their East Montrose Street residence and charged with domestic violence. The girl alleged her brother shoved her during an altercation; the man told police she punched him in the stomach several times.
Criminal damaging: A worker at Valvoline Instant Oil Change, 3159 Belmont Ave., discovered three bay windows were destroyed.
Arrest: Police pulled over a vehicle near Youngstown-Hubbard Road after determining it had been stolen and arrested a 52-year-old Youngstown man on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. A suspected crack pipe was in a pack of cigarettes, authorities said.
Vandalism: A window was broken, resulting in about $400 worth of damage, at Jerusalem Food Imports, 3033 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A man in the 1400 block of Townsend Avenue discovered that a $200, 20-inch gold necklace was removed from a jewelry box.
Criminal damaging: A Girard man told police his car had been shot, possibly with BBs, as he drove on Logan Way.
Theft: A man in the 100 block of Laurel Street discovered multiple cash withdrawals had been made from his account. The victim estimated he lost around $3,020.
Criminal damaging: A Marla Lane man reported someone threw fireworks at his vehicle, damaging its paint.
Drugs: While conducting a traffic stop after the driver failed to signal, authorities arrested a 25-year-old Youngstown man on Trumbull Court. He was charged with drug abuse (cocaine) and driving under suspension after police said the man had a bag of suspected cocaine under the driver's-side seat.
July 2
Theft: A taillight was stolen off a vehicle at Belmont Motors, 3238 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A witness told police a woman pumped $43.30 worth of gasoline at USA Gas Mart, 2904 Belmont Ave., and left without paying.
July 3
Theft: A man in the 2900 block of Roosevelt Drive accused a Youngstown woman of stealing money from his checking/debit account.
Theft: An employee at the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., reported a 19-inch TV and two pillows missing from a room.
Assault: An 8-year-old Youngstown boy complained of neck pain after being thrown to the ground during an altercation in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Drugs: Officers reported finding nine syringes, spoons with suspected drug residue, a metal pipe and other suspected drug paraphernalia at a Holly Drive home. Police arrested a 26-year-old Girard woman on charges of drug possession as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments.
July 4
Drugs: After stopping a car near Belmont and Trumbull avenues for an equipment violation, police arrested a Girard man, 24, on one count of possession of marijuana. The man handed over a bag of suspected marijuana, officers said.
Theft/recovered property: An automated-teller-machine card was found shortly after a man in the 2900 block of Northview Drive reported it missing from his wallet.
