YOUNGSTOWN -- The Sports Network named senior center Ryan Jewell and senior cornerback Codera Jackson to its I-AA preseason All-America team.
Jackson and Jewell were both named to the preseason first team. Jewell has started 28 games in his three-year career and is one of six seniors on the offensive line this year.
Jackson, a second-team All-American as a junior, led the conference and ranked in the top 10 nationally in interceptions in 2005.
Softball
YOUNGSTOWN -- Danielle Chase (Erie, Pa.) has signed a national letter of intent with YSU. Also, Jessica Roziewski (North Canton) has transferred to YSU from Ashland University.
Chase, a pitcher, was a four-year letter winner at Iroquois High and a two-time first-team all-region selection.
As a junior, Chase went 16-5 with a 0.55 earned run average and 224 strikeouts in 153 innings. She recorded 13 shutouts.
Rozniewski, an infielder, played 37 games as a freshman at Ashland last season, batting .421.
Rozniewski can play second base, third base or shortstop.

'Hounds re-sign two
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown SteelHounds have re-signed defenseman Kelly Sickavish and forward Sam Miller to one-year contracts for the 2006-07 season.
Both players served as assistant captains for the team last season. Sickavish, the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player last season, enters his third season in the Central Hockey League (CHL). The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defender registered two goals and 16 assists last season and finished with an even plus/minus rating in 57 games.
Miller was signed by the SteelHounds following the second game of the season after beginning the year with Corpus Christi.
Braves to Cardinalyouth football camp
YOUNGSTOWN -- Cardinal Mooney High graduate and former football player Devlin Culliver will hold the "Braves to Cardinal Football Foundation" football camp Saturday.
The camp will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Mooney High School. Joining Culliver as camp staff are Garcia Lane, Shawn Lane, Dr. Kevin Harris, Chris Rowell, Brandon Beachum, Tariq Goode and Desmond Marrow.

WARREN -- Ryan Keller pitched a complete game, scattering six hits, as Reds defeated P.I. & amp;I. Express, 7-0, at Perkins Park.
Rich Stout and Kevin Powell had two hits each for Reds, while Bill McCartney doubled. Stout, Kevin Lee and Nate Daugherty all drove in two runs.

Blue Jackets sign goalie Conklin
COLUMBUS -- The Blue Jackets signed former Edmonton Oilers goaltender Ty Conklin Thursday, giving Columbus a backup to Pascal LeClaire.
Conklin's signing was completed a week after the Blue Jackets traded goalie Marc Denis to the Tampa Bay Lightning for veteran European netminder Fredrik Norrena.
Conklin, 30, went 8-5-1 and allowed an average of 2.80 goals in 18 games with the Oilers last season. In 60 games with the Oilers over five years, he has a record of 27-19-5 and a goals-against average of 2.49.
The Blue Jackets also signed defenseman Tomas Kloucek, who played 33 games last season for the Chicago Wolves of the AHL. Kloucek has played in 140 career NHL games with the Rangers, the Nashville Predators and the Atlanta Thrashers. He has two goals and eight assists.
Lopez to play LPGA event in Toledo
TOLEDO -- Nancy Lopez says she'll play in an LPGA Tour event for the first time in more than a year next week at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic.
Lopez, a winner of 48 LPGA tournaments, has played only a handful of tour events since the 2002 season.
