Novotny's hits help as Mink knots Class B series 1-1

STRUTHERS -- Mark Novotny had three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs to lead Mink Financial to an 8-2 win over Rondinelli Tuxedo, evening the best-of-three series in the first round of the Class B playoffs Thursday at Cene Park.
Brett Grabman had two hits and Mike Barone drove in two for Mink, while Sam Barker pitched a complete-game five-hitter, striking out five and walking three to get the victory.
Andy Dobson and Frank Rosile each singled and drove in a run for Rondinelli, which won 13-3 on Wednesday.
The teams will play the deciding game tonight at 7 on Cene 1.
R & amp;J Trucking 5, Wharmby Sports 1
Jim Pasquine went the distance, throwing a five-hitter with four strikeouts and a walk for R & amp;J Trucking, which won the series 2-0.
Joe Wilbruda had three hits, while C.J. Morris, Ed Rohan and Xavier Goday each added two for R & amp;J. David Patrick added two RBIs.
John Thomas had the lone RBI for Wharmby, which lost 4-0 in Wednesday's opener.

Rondinelli Tuxedo scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally past R & amp;J Trucking, 6-5, to win the deciding game in the best-of-three little b championship series.
Cory Nesbitt went the distance to get the win. He gave up three earned runs on six hits and struck out six for Rondinelli, which lost Tuesday's opener, 1-0. Rondinelli tied the series with an 8-2 win over R & amp;J on Wednesday.
Marc Kanetsky and Mike Carnahan each had two RBIs for Rondinelli, while Jason Ferguson had a double.
David Wright, Mark Carrocci and Mark Lapikas each drove in a run for R & amp;J.
