Installation of officers held by Angels of Easter Seals
POLAND -- The home of Emily DeToro in Poland was the setting for the June 7 meeting of Angels of Easter Seals, at which the organization installed officers for the 2006-2007 term.
Jill Chesney was inducted as president, and seated as her associate officers were Betty Cmil, first vice president; Deborah Liptak, second vice president; Debbie Wilson, corresponding secretary; Carol O'Neill, recording secretary; and Phyllis Bacon, treasurer. Sue Berny is past president.
Chesney is a lifelong resident of the area. She has been a member of Angels for six years and was co-chairwoman of the Magic of an Angels Christmas last December. She is a member of the board for Top Hat Productions, and a member of Canfield PTO and St. Michael Church in Canfield. She lives in Canfield with her husband, Tim, and their two daughters.
Other business
A check in the amount of $140,000 was presented to Ken Sklenar, president and CEO of the Easter Seal Center in Youngstown. The funds are proceeds from the club's Magic of an Angels Christmas, spring luncheon and fashion show event, sale of the Angels and Friends cookbooks, holiday brunch and sweet shoppe, sponsorship of a Scrapper's baseball game, Kaufmann's Shop for a Cause and other programs.
All funds raised by the Angels are donated to the Easter Seals to provide services for children and adults with disabilities at the Easter Seal Center.
