Details elusive in Belmont Avenue shooting

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are investigating a shooting on the city's North Side that sent two people to St. Elizabeth Health Center, one in critical condition.
Police had few details Thursday at press time. They responded around 8:30 p.m. to Belmont Drive-Thru on Belmont Avenue and were searching for a black male dressed all in black. They believe the man fled south in a dark blue sport utility vehicle.
Police had no further information on the events that led to the shooting, a motive or the names or other descriptions of the victims. They said people in the area either said they had no information or gave conflicting reports about what happened.
