Austintown man reports ATV attack

AUSTINTOWN -- An Austintown man told police that he was run over by an all-terrain vehicle Wednesday evening.
The 53-year-old victim told police that while he was working on his combine, a dog wandered onto his property, followed by the suspect on an ATV at 6:45.
The victim began to chase the 27-year-old suspect and dog off his property, eventually grabbing the dog by its collar at which time the dog bit the victim underneath the left eye, a police report said.
The victim claims that after being bit, the suspect stopped the ATV, backed the vehicle up and then ran over the victim. The suspect says the victim jumped in front of the ATV. A witness also said that the victim jumped in front of the vehicle.
The victim was treated for injuries to the left side of his face, left arm and left leg at St. Elizabeth Health Center Emergency and Diagnostic Center here.
The suspect was given a criminal trespass warning to stay off of the victim's property. Both the victim and the suspect live on Kirk Road. No charges were filed.
