Craig Beach police chief set to retire July 15

CRAIG BEACH -- Council called a special meeting Wednesday to announce the resignation of the village's police chief and vote to advertise for a replacement.
Chief Rick Watson's resignation is effective July 15, and officials voted to advertise in The Vindicator on Saturday and Sunday for a part-time replacement.
Watson served in the police department for 16 years, the last six as chief, Mayor Larry Ellis said. The post will pay $8.50 per hour, the mayor added.
Ellis said that Watson will be leaving to take a position with the Mahoning County E-911 center. The center is part of the county's Emergency Management Agency.
