Harding breezes by Wilson



The Raiders handed the Redmen their 14th straight loss, 55-18.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Woodrow Wilson High was limited to four points in each of the first three quarters, and Warren Harding went on to a 55-18 victory Monday night in a Steel Valley Conference girls game.
The Raiders (4-11, 2-3 SVC) led 34-12 after three quarters. Jahmarra Warfield and Kamela Bender scored 10 points apiece for Warren Harding.
Meymey North led the Redmen (0-14, 0-4) with six points.
Mount De Chantal 80, Rayen 48
WHEELING, W. Va. -- Mount De Chantal jumped out to a 27-12 lead in the first quarter and held a commanding 51-17 margin at halftime.
Brittany Hodges paced the Royals with 17 points. Gabriela Martinen added 14. Nicole James and Emma Shalaway had 10 apiece.
Brittney Taylor took scoring honors for the Tigers (9-5) with 37 points and she grabbed seven rebounds.
LaBrae 53, Girard 49
GIRARD -- The Vikings led 34-18 at the close of the third quarter, then held on to post the victory in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Jalisa Elkins scored 22 points to spark the Vikings (7-8, 3-7 TAC). Peggy Nichols chipped in with 10.
Jenna Ruiz paced the Indians (2-13, 2-8 TAC) with 18 points. Jenai Brown finished with 16.
Newton Falls 55, Hubbard 46
NEWTON FALLS -- Junior Emily Montgomery scored a career-high 23 points to lead Newton Falls.
The Tigers' (4-12, 2-8 TAC), Kelsey Werner, a senior, scored 14 points, also a career-high.
Hubbard (5-10, 3-7) was led by Tressa Scahill, who scored 22 points and made four 3-pointers.
Southington 52, Bristol 39
SOUTHINGTON -- Alexis Wolfe scored 14 points and Mary Beth Little added 10 more to carry the Wildcats (5-9, 5-4 Northeastern Athletic Conference).
Southington took control early, leading by 10 points, 18-8, after the first quarter.
Lisbon 73, Leetonia 47
LEETONIA -- The Blue Devils (12-3, 7-3 Tri-County League) put the game out of reach with a 27-10 surge in the second quarter giving them a 46-21 lead at the intermission.
Eric Sims sparked Lisbon with 25 points. Emily smith added 18 and Megan Reynolds had 12.
Leetonia is 3-13, 1-9.
Sharon 42, Sharpsville 32
SHARON -- Janine McDonald scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Brittany Csatlos added 10 points, seven assists and six rebounds to pace Sharon (18-1, 11-0 District 10 Region 1 Class AA). Katie Kelly chipped in with nine points.
Katey Gardner scored 19 points to lead Sharpsville (11-6, 6-5), while Emily Montone had eight and Mary Ferrara five rebounds.
