Man in murder probejailed on parole violation
BEAVER, Pa. (AP) -- A man arrested by police investigating a Hermitage doctor's murder on the Ohio Turnpike will spend about four months in jail for violating parole by hitting a police officer, authorities said. Damian R. Bradford, 24, of Leetsdale, is accused of assaulting a McKeesport officer on Jan. 5 while being arrested for public drunkenness. At the time, Bradford was on parole for a drug conviction stemming from the investigation into the May 13 slaying of Dr. Gulam Moonda. Bradford agreed to the violation Friday and will serve the balance of his sentence, which will keep him in jail until June. Moonda was murdered along the turnpike near Cleveland while traveling with his wife, Donna, and her mother. Investigators alleged that Bradford had been in a relationship with Donna Moonda. During the murder probe, authorities discovered illegal steroids in Bradford's home. He pleaded no contest to a drug possession charge in September and was released in November. Bradford has not been charged in Moonda's death.
