Smith-Shovlin engagement is being announced



XBURLINGTON, Ky. -- Nicole Smith and Paul Shovlin Jr., both of Burlington, are announcing their engagement and plans for their upcoming marriage.
The couple have chosen July 15 for their open wedding at 2 p.m. at St. Matthias Church, Youngstown. Their evening reception will be held by invitation at the Byzantine Center at the Grove, Youngstown.
Parents of the bride-elect are Paulette Smith of Canfield and Ken Smith of Hubbard. The future groom is a son of Paul Shovlin of Poland and Tamra Shovlin of Boardman.
Miss Smith earned a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders at Bowling Green State University and a master's in speech-language pathology at Pennsylvania State University. She is a speech-language pathologist with Cardinal Hill Specialty Hospital in Fort Thomas, Ky.
Mr. Shovlin, a project engineer with North American Stainless in Ghent, Ky., graduated from the University of Akron with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
