Two men will be honored for their contributions to the fight against heart disease and stroke.
YOUNGSTOWN -- American Heart Association's 2006 Heart Ball will be held March 4 at Stambaugh Auditorium, 1000 Fifth Ave.
This year's black-tie event will begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner and a silent and live auction.
The focus of the evening will be the presentation of the Heart of the Community Award to open-heart surgery survivor Lee R. Hively Jr. of Hively Construction Co. for his support of the Mahoning Valley AHA, and the Cardiac Service Award to Dr. Timothy J. Hunter of St. Elizabeth Heart and Vascular Center for his dedication to heart-disease treatment, education and prevention in the greater Youngstown area.
Tickets are $100 per person, a portion of which is tax-deductible. Proceeds will help support the research institutions in Northeast Ohio and help fund heart-disease and stroke education programs throughout the community.
