Pennsylvania pesticide applicator's exams available

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Pennsylvania pesticide applicators' exams will be given at 9 a.m. Feb. 15 at Deerfield Farms Services Inc.'s New Wilmington location, said Ryan Hockensmith, Deerfield Farms agronomist.
Core examinations will be administered for both private and public-commercial applicators. Category exams also will be given for those interested in a public-commercial license.
The core exam is based on information contained in the Pesticide Education Manual available at Penn State Extension offices. Information on category exams is available from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, Hockensmith said.
Those testing for a public license will be required to pay a $50 licensing fee the morning of the exam. There is a $10 fee for each category exam. Fees may only be paid by check or money order, Hockensmith said.
