Felony Mental Health Court
WHO QUALIFIES
Defendants charged with lower-level felonies.
Defendants who also have major mental illnesses, including schizophrenia or bipolar disorder; other diagnoses will be considered on a case by case basis.
If defendants have been charged with violent crimes, they may participate only if their victims give their consent.
WHO DOESN'T QUALIFY
Defendants charged with sex crimes.
Severely mentally retarded people.
Individuals who have lengthy criminal histories.
