PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Hilton Armstrong had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Josh Boone had nine and 13 on Saturday to lead No. 1 Connecticut to its seventh consecutive win, a 76-62 victory over Providence.
The Huskies (18-1, 6-1 Big East) used a 52-34 rebounding edge to score 36 second-chance points to 11 for the Friars.
Providence (9-9, 2-5) fell to 0-5 against ranked teams this season and has not beaten one in 15 tries.
Donnie McGrath scored 18 points for Providence, which was within 50-45 midway through the second half, but UConn scored the next seven points.
No. 3 Memphis 94, UCF 61
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Rodney Carney was 5-of-6 from 3-point range and scored 26 points to lead the Tigers to their eighth straight win.
Carney, who had eight points in a 59-second span, provided an offensive spark for Memphis (19-2, 5-0 Conference USA) after a lackluster start. Shawne Williams finished with 16 points for Memphis, which shot 51 percent from the field.
Mike O'Donnell and Dave Noel each had 10 points for Central Florida (9-9, 3-2).
No. 5 Florida 81, Vanderbilt 58
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Al Horford had 16 points, 16 rebounds and six assists and Florida bounced back from consecutive losses.
The Gators (18-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) matched the school record with their 19th straight victory at home and avoided their first three-game losing streak in nearly two years. They also extended their winning streak against the Commodores (12-5, 3-3) to five games.
Horford was 6-of-12 from the field, had seven offensive rebounds and scored three baskets in a 15-4 run early in the second half that helped Florida turn a halftime deficit into a double-digit lead.
DeMarre Carroll had 18 points for Vanderbilt, which has lost three of four since a stunning win at Kentucky.
No. 6 Villanova 72, Notre Dame 70
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Kyle Lowry tipped in a missed shot by Randy Foye with 1.7 seconds left for the game-winning basket and Villanova (15-2, 6-1 Big East) survived blowing a 17-point lead in the second half.
It was another tough loss for the Irish (10-8, 1-6), who used a 24-4 run to take a 66-63 lead with 1:38 left.
No. 8 Illinois 76, Purdue 58
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Rich McBride scored 19 points and Illinois won its 33rd straight home game, tying Southern Illinois for the longest current streak in the country.
The Illini (19-2, 5-2 Big Ten) are 90-3 at home since the start of the 1999-2000 season.
Purdue (7-12, 1-7) scored the first seven points of the game and was up 12-4 with 14:02 to go in the first half. Jamar Smith's 3-pointer started a 14-0 run that saw the Illini hold Purdue scoreless for 5:51.
Dee Brown finished with 12 points and nine assists for Illinois and James Augustine had 11 points and 12 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season.
Gary Ware and Marcus Green each scored 11 points for Purdue, which lost its fourth straight.
No. 14 George Washington 81, Rhode Island 62
WASHINGTON -- Pops Mensah-Bonsu had 17 points and 12 rebounds and George Washington closed the game with a 29-8 run.
Danilo Pinnock had 18 points for the Colonials (16-1, 6-0 Atlantic 10), who trailed by 11 points in the first half. The Colonials scored 23 points off turnovers.
Dawan Robinson lead the Rams (11-7, 5-2) with 15 points.

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Luc Richard Mbah a Moute had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead UCLA.
Jordan Farmar added 13 points and eight assists for the Bruins (17-4, 7-2), who remained in first place in the Pac-10 Conference.
Sasa Cuic had 24 points and seven rebounds for Oregon State (10-10, 3-6).
Temple 91, No. 18 Maryland 85
PHILADELPHIA -- Mardy Collins scored 25 points and Dustin Salisbery had 23 for Temple, which went on a 17-2 run late in the game.
Nik Caner-Medley led Maryland (14-5) with 30 points and 10 rebounds, and Mike Jones had 23 points.
No. 19 Tennessee 81,South Carolina 65
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Chris Lofton scored 23 points and Andre Patterson had 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Tennessee.
Tre' Kelley and Dwayne Day each scored 11 points for the Gamecocks (11-9, 2-5).
Rutgers 65, No. 22 Louisville 56
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Quincy Douby had 19 points and seven rebounds and Ollie Bailey scored six of his 12 points down the stretch as Rutgers scored the game's final nine points.
JR Inman added 13 points for Rutgers (13-7, 3-4 Big East), which snapped a three-game losing streak while handing Louisville (14-6, 2-5) its fourth loss in five games.
Michigan 85, No. 23 Wisconsin 76
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Dion Harris scored a season-high 23 points and Courtney Sims added 18 as Michigan (15-3, 5-2 Bg Ten) won its second straight over a ranked opponent.
Kammron Taylor scored 29 points and Alando Tucker added 21 for the Badgers (15-5, 5-2) who have lost three of four.
