Child welfare worker faces sex charges

NEW YORK (AP) -- The city's beleaguered child welfare agency was dealt another blow Friday when police arrested one of its employees on suspicion of sexually assaulting his teenage daughter.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said the man, whose name was not released, was a supervisor who had worked for the agency for 10 years.
He was arrested after his 15-year-old daughter, accompanied by her mother, told investigators she had been repeatedly abused during weekend visits to his home, Kelly said.
The Administration for Children's Services said the man was suspended from his $57,000 job, a largely administrative position training prospective foster and adoptive parents.
The case comes amid a public outcry over recent deaths of children in homes monitored by the agency, including the Jan. 11 death of a Brooklyn girl, 7-year-old Nixzmary Brown.
