WOMEN'S TOP 25 Thursday's other games

Kentucky 66, No. 1 Tennessee 63
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Top-ranked Tennessee lost consecutive games for the first time in nine years. Jenny Pfeiffer scored 16 points, including two free throws with 15 seconds left to put the Wildcats ahead by one. Sidney Spencer then missed a 3-pointer for Tennessee and fouled Nastassia Alcius, who hit two foul shots with 3 seconds to go for the final margin. The Lady Vols (18-2, 4-1 Southeastern Conference), who figured to drop from the top spot anyway after their 22-point loss Monday against No. 2 Duke, will almost certainly fall farther now. Tennessee had beaten Kentucky (15-4, 4-2) 24 straight times since January 1986 and entered with a 40-5 advantage in the series. For Pat Summitt, the all-time winningest coach in college basketball with 900 victories, the setback came at the hands of her former pupil, Kentucky coach Mickie DeMoss, a Tennessee assistant for 18 years under Summitt.
No. 2 Duke 97, Clemson 65
CLEMSON, S.C. -- Lindsey Harding scored 17 points and Duke matched its best start at 20-0 with a victory over Clemson. The biggest question for the Blue Devils (7-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) coming in was whether they could keep their intensity up after beating top-ranked Tennessee 75-53 on Monday night. The answer, after a sluggish start, was yes.
No. 6 Maryland 79, Georgia Tech 71
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Crystal Langhorne scored 19 of her 23 points in the second half, teaming with Shay Doron to help Maryland wear down Georgia Tech. Doron scored 18 points, including 16 after halftime, and Marissa Coleman had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Terrapins (18-2, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference).
No. 8 Purdue 73, No. 16 Michigan St. 53
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Katie Gearlds scored 23 points and Aya Traore added 17 in Purdue's victory over Michigan State. Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton had 11 points, seven rebounds and seven steals for the Boilermakers. Liz Shimek led Michigan State (14-7, 4-4) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
No. 14 Minnesota 79,North Dakota St. 70
MINNEAPOLIS -- Jamie Broback scored a career-high 33 points, including 25 in the second half, to lead Minnesota past pesky North Dakota State. Minnesota (14-4) pulled away when Shannon Bolden and Katie Alsdurf hit 3-pointers for a 65-51 lead with 4:46 left. Broback also had nine rebounds.
No. 15 Georgia 75, South Carolina 64
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Tasha Humphrey scored 18 points and Sherill Baker added 13 in the second half to lift Georgia over South Carolina. The Lady Bulldogs, coming off a one-point loss to No. 4 LSU on Sunday, beat the Gamecocks for the sixth straight time -- but South Carolina hung tough in the first half.
Arkansas 69, No. 24 Florida 63
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Leslie Howard scored a season-high 24 points, leading Arkansas over Florida. Arkansas (13-6, 5-1 Southeastern Conference) used a 13-4 run midway through the second half to cut into a 10-point Florida lead. The Gators led 47-37 with just less than 16 minutes left, but Arkansas' swarming defense and Howard's shooting turned the tide.
