One teen sentenced, one bound over in robbery
WARREN -- A juvenile has been bound over to a Trumbull County grand jury as an adult on a robbery charge, and another juvenile was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in juvenile custody.
Judge Pamela A. Rintala of Trumbull County Family Court relinquished jurisdiction Wednesday of Matthew Centofanti, 17, of Niles, and ordered him bound over on a charge of aggravated robbery with a gun specification.
Authorities said they would not release the name of the other 17-year-old male because he remains in the juvenile system.
The Niles boy was sentenced by Judge Rintala to 3 1/2 years in a state facility that will be determined later. He'll be 21 when released.
Niles police said a Hubbard woman was trying to sell some of her belongings out of her car Oct. 2 at Carnegie Arms Apartments.
Centofanti reportedly put a handgun to her stomach, robbed her of stereo equipment and a cell phone and ordered her not to return or she would be killed, police said.
