Kent St. rallies against Miami

OXFORD, Ohio -- Jay Youngblood scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half to lead Kent State to a 53-46 win over Miami (Ohio) Tuesday night.
Kent State (13-5, 7-0 Mid-American Conference) scored 23 points off turnovers and outscored the RedHawks 30-20 in the second half.
Miami (9-7, 6-2) led 26-23 at halftime.
The Golden Flashes pulled out to a 38-30 lead with 12:36 left, but Nathan Peavy hit a jumper a few seconds later to kick off a 12-4 run that tied it at 42 with 5:50 to go.
DeAndre Haynes and Mike Scott each hit a pair of free throws down the stretch to secure the win for Kent State. Haynes finished with 15 points, and Scott grabbed 10 rebounds.
William Hatcher led Miami with 20 points, and Peavy added 10.
Ohio 66, Akron 63
ATHENS -- Leon Williams and Jeremy Fears both hit a pair of free throws in the final 10 seconds for Ohio.
The Bobcats held the Zips without a field goal over the final 2:22 and outscored the Zips 32-22 in the paint.
Williams led Ohio (12-3, 6-1 MAC) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Jerome Tillman had 11 points off the bench, and Mychal Green and Johnnie Jackson each added 10.
Romeo Travis led Akron (13-4, 6-1) with 17 points. Dru Joyce scored 11 and Nate Linhart added 10.
Buffalo 76, Bowling Green 73
BOWLING GREEN -- Calvin Cage scored 24 points, including Buffalo's final seven.
Buffalo (14-4, 4-3 MAC) led 38-24 at the half, but the Falcons went on a 12-0 run to cut the lead to 53-51.
Buffalo then held Bowling Green (7-10, 3-4) scoreless for nearly five minutes to rebuild its lead to 61-51.
Martin Samarco, who finished with 30 points, and Mawel Soler both hit a pair of free throws in the final two minutes to trim Buffalo's lead to 70-67.
Soler then fouled Cage, who gave the Bulls a five-point lead.
Soler scored 19 points for Bowling Green.
Toledo 67, N. Illinois 66
DE KALB, Ill. -- Kashif Payne and Justin Ingram each scored 19 points to lead Toledo over Northern Illinois.
Toledo (9-7, 2-6 MAC) shot 65 percent from behind the 3-point line in the game, connecting on 13 of 20 attempts.
Mike McKinney led the way for Northern Illinois (9-7, 4-4), scoring 15 points with six rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
