High school student pleads innocent to rape
WARREN -- An 18-year-old McDonald High School student has pleaded innocent to a rape charge and four charges of corrupting another with drugs.
Joseph S. Mohn Jr. of Hayes Avenue appeared Monday in the Trumbull County Common Pleas courtroom of Judge Peter Kontos. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Mike Burnett, an assistant Trumbull County prosecutor, said the rape charge stems from his alleged conduct with a 12-year-old non-related female last summer in McDonald.
The corrupting charges stem from allegedly providing marijuana to four children aged nine to 13, also in McDonald, Burnett said.
If convicted, Mohn faces up to 10 years in prison on the rape charge and up to 18 months in prison on the corrupting charges.
Mohn was indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury Dec. 30.
