Multimedia program set for heart event



BOARDMAN -- A multimedia presentation by cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Timothy Hunter, explaining the events that take a heart patient from the emergency room to surgery, is the featured event at Humility of Mary Health Partners' fifth annual "Be a Heart Hero."
The event is 4:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 2 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman. "Be a Heart Hero" is a community program dedicated to increasing knowledge of cardiovascular health.
Dr. Hunter's presentation offers participants information about complex process of testing and evaluation that surrounds every heart case, HMHP officials said.
Other presentations include:
UNate Offerdahl, telling his story of survival after being stricken with heart disease at a young age.
UDr. Mita Raheja, discussing advances being made in electrophysiology in her presentation "Let's Set the Pace."
UA heart-healthy buffet and health screenings.
The cost of the event is $18 per person, which includes the buffet dinner. The cost for professionals (nursing, social work, radiological technologists and dietitians/technicians) who want continuing education credits is $23. Registration is required. Call (330) 480-3151 or (877) 700-4647.
