Judge to run for 2nd term on 7th District Court

YOUNGSTOWN -- Judge Mary DeGenaro will file her nominating petitions Monday to run for a second six-year term on the 7th District Court of Appeals.
Among those scheduled to join the judge and her family when she files the petitions at the Mahoning County Board of Elections include Bill Padisak of the Service Employees International Union, and Larry Fauver, president of the Greater Youngstown AFL-CIO Council.
The judge has been an attorney for 19 years and previously served on Poland Village Council. She will be running in the Republican primary in May.
Judge DeGenaro is the only judge on the four-member panel up for re-election this year.
The 7th District encompasses Mahoning, Columbiana, Belmont, Carroll, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe and Noble counties. The court reviews trial court cases from the counties, including criminal, divorce, small claims and personal injury cases.
