BETHANY, W. Va. -- Jenny Place (Badger High) became the 14th woman in school history to crack the 1,000-point career scoring plateau for the Bison (6-12, 2-3 Presidents' Athletic Conference).
Place shot 8-for-18 from the floor to score 23 points.
She now has 1,005 career points.
Also for the Bison, Courtney Irwin scored 16 points.
Rachel McCoy ignited Grove City (6-12, 2-3) with 19 points.
Denison 69,Hiram 52
GRANVILLE -- Lauren Vashaw and Sarah Perrine each scored 10 points for Denison (14-4, 6-3).
Tammy Hoch grabbed 17 rebounds for Denison.
Hiram (7-8, 2-6) was led by Cassie Bedard with 13 points and Tania Carman who scored 11 points.
Wash. & amp; Jefferson 83,Thiel 71
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Lauren Slampak, Leigh Sulkowski and Dayna Greenfield scored 16, 15 and 11 points respectively for the Presidents (14-3, 4-1 PAC).
Thiel (5-13, 3-2) trailed just 17-13 at the break.
Freshman Amber Bodrick (Mooney) scored 11 points for Thiel.
Slippery Rock 53,Lock Haven 49
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Amanda Chojnacki and Amber McFeely each made a pair of free throws in the final minute of play to account for the winning margin for the Rock.
Chojnacki finished with a team-high 14 points and seven rebounds.
McFeely added eight points and handed out 10 assists for the Rock (9-9, 1-2).
Lock Haven is 13-4, 1-2.
Thomas More 74,Westminster 68
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Brooke Warner, Kristen Humphrey, Alex Gee and Megan Wood scored 15, 14, 12 and 12 points for Thomas More (13-5, 5-1 PAC).
Wood had seven rebounds as Thomas More controlled the boards, 29-23.
Desiree Sterling (Newton Falls) tied her career high with 26 points to pace the Titans (4-14, 1-4). Sterling made half of the 20 shots she attempted.
Rachel Eaton also scored 12 points for Westminster.
Mount Union 61,Heidelberg 55
ALLIANCE -- Alicia Williams meshed 17 points and pulled in nine rebounds for the Purple Raiders (11-6, 6-4 OAC).
Mount Union went to 6-1 in home contests.
Lauren Friedrich scored 14 points and Kyla Hogan had 10 more for the Raiders.
For Heidelberg (8-9, 2-8), Amanda Campbell scored 12 points.
Allegheny 65,Kenyon 56
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Gators (10-7, 6-2 NCAC) avenged an earlier loss to Kenyon by out-scoring them 36-23 after intermission.
Kenyon is 13-4, 5-3.
Courtney Sterling scored 14 points and Katie Kestler scored 11 more for the Gators.
Kenyon led 33-27 at the half and had more rebounds, 37-26.
Anne Dugan scored 14 points and Kyle Davidson added 10 points for Kenyon.
The game was tied at the half, 27-27.
MEN
Bethany 92,Grove City 58
BETHANY, W. VA. -- Matt Drahos scored 23 points to move past the 1,500-point career mark as the Bison (14-4, 5-0 PAC) won their ninth straight game.
Twin brother Mike Drahos added 18 points for Bethany.
Marc Palermo (Ursuline) had four points and five assists off the Bethany bench.
Daniel Zacour scored 14 points to pace Grove City (7-11, 3-2).
Lock Haven 88,Slippery Rock 82
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Lock Haven won for only the third time in 17 games this winter and is now 1-2 in PSAC-West action.
Brandon Thompson scored a career-high 26 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for the Rock (1-17, 0-3) which has lost 16 straight.
Denison 80,Hiram 72
GRANVILLE -- Dan Hodgkinson paced Denison (8-9, 4-4 North Coast Conf.) with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Jordan Krantz added 14 points off the Denison bench.
Also for Denison, Dan Izzo and Robb Hern scored 13 points apiece.
Denison used a 12-2 first-half run to build a 51-34 halftime lead.
The Big Red's advantage never fell below seven points in the final 20 minutes.
Senior T.C. Spencer led Hiram (3-14, 1-7 NCAC) in scoring with 19 points, followed by classmate A.J. White with 14.
Junior Brandon Pool added 12 points.
Spencer also led in rebounds with nine, followed by sophomore Michael McDevitt (Lisbon) with six.
Washington & amp; Jefferson 83, Thiel 71
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Jon Koch shot 14-for-23 and scored 38 points in 35 minutes for the Presidents (6-12, 4-1).
Brandon Studer also scored 15 points for W & amp;J, which led 47-30 at the break.
Geno Bianco paced Thiel (2-15, 0-5) with 21 points.
Westminster 134,Thomas More 109
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Mark DeMonaco (New Castle) scored 29 points as the Titans (5-12, 2-3 PAC) came within a point of the school record for points scored in a game.
Brian Urso added 23 points and Greg Rosatelli scored a career-high 16 points for Westminster.
Seven players scored in double figures for the Titans, who made 39 of 65 shots (60 percent).
For Thomas More (1-17, 1-5), E.J. Havnes scored 22 points.
Heidelberg 77,Mount Union 68
TIFFIN -- Shawn Shriver hit for 28 points, shooting 8-for-10 for Heidelberg (7-10, 3-7). Chad Szalay scored 12 points to bolster Shriver.
Although trailing by 20 points at the break, 45-25, Mount Union fought back in the final 20 minutes.
Chris Switzer and Kyle Karpinski each scored 20 points for the Purple Raiders (5-12, 4-6).
Eric Fender (Poland) scored 10 points and had two assists for Mount Union.
Wittenberg 61,Allegheny 56
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Nationally-ranked Wittenberg (16-1, 7-1 NCAC) ended the game on an 11-1 run after the Gators led for most of the first 35 minutes.
Allegheny was led by Casey McCloskey with 25 points and Bill Babe with 14.
Allegheny (6-10, 2-6) led by 13 points in the first half, 32-19, on a lay-up by Babe.
Dane Borchers scored 29 points for Wittenberg.
