Tigers cruise against Reserve



Springfield had to hold off a late rally by the Blue Devils for a 61-54 win.
BERLIN CENTER -- The Springfield High girls basketball team took a 48-37 lead after three quarters and held off a late rally by Western Reserve to post a 61-54 victory in an Inter-County League game on Thursday.
Samantha Cavalier sparked Springfield (8-3, 5-1) with 18 points. Christy Warren chipped in with 11.
Macy Marra led the Blue Devils (4-7, 2-4) with 12 points. Lainey Kekic added 11 and Alex Rathburn had 10. Cassie Zimmerman pulled down nine rebounds.
Lowellville 69, Mineral Ridge 27
LOWELLVILLE -- The Rockets (6-5, 4-2) set the tone in the first half, scoring 18 points off their fast-break offense.
The Rams (2-9, 0-6) managed to score only 13 points through three quarters as the Rockets scored 49 points.
The Rockets connected on 24 of 43 shots for 55 percent and they tossed in 20-of-23 free throws for 86 percent.
Ali Grapevine scored 17 points to trigger the Rockets' balanced attack. Kaitlin McCarthy added 16 and she had seven assists and six steals. Whitney Palumbo and Kristen Pallozzi chipped in with 10 points apiece. Grapevine and Jacque Schrader each grabbed eight rebounds.
Abbey Kiger sparked the Rams with 15 points.
McDonald 63, Jackson-Milton 35
NORTH JACKSON -- Emily Dolsak scored 18 points -- including 17 in the first three quarters -- and grabbed 13 rebounds as McDonald (12-0, 6-0) took a 45-18 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Ashleigh Tondo added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Blue Devils. Alyssa Chine scored 10 to lead the Bluejays (6-6. 2-4), while Megan Whitmer had seven rebounds, four assists and five steals.
South Range 56, Sebring 42
SEBRING -- The Raiders' Cindy Schuler scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Raiders (8-4, 5-1).
Autumn Carter chipped in with 13. Kelcie Witmer had 10 assists and eight steals.
Ashley Amabeli paced Sebring with 16 points. Megan Allcorn added Chelsea Neeb had 11.
