CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Erlana Larkins scored 22 points, including 14-for-14 free-throw shooting, and Ivory Latta had 17 points for North Carolina. La'Tangela Atkinson added 10 points with six assists and four steals for North Carolina (17-0, 4-0 ACC), which moved within one win of matching its best start. Janie Mitchell and Jill Ingram each scored 12 points to lead Georgia Tech (11-6, 0-4), which lost its fifth straight. Larkins was 8-for-8 on free throws in the see-saw first half to help North Carolina take a 32-25 lead at the break. Trailing 15-11 midway through the first half, North Carolina used a 13-0 run to retake the lead for good.
No. 8 Baylor 60, Texas A & amp;M 49
WACO, Texas -- Sophia Young scored 28 points and Abiola Wabara added 10 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 8 Baylor. The Lady Bears (13-2, 3-2 Big 12) scored 15 straight points -- including nine by Young -- to open the second half and take a 40-27 lead with just over 15 minutes left. However, Texas A & amp;M (14-4, 3-2) responded with an 11-0 run to cut the margin to 40-38 on a layup by Takia Starks with 10:27 remaining. Baylor then scored seven straight points, and the Aggies didn't get closer than 49-40 with 6 minutes left to play.
No. 17 Oklahoma 63, Texas Tech 57
NORMAN, Okla. -- Freshman center Courtney Paris had her 10th straight double-double, finishing with 17 points and 19 rebounds as No. 17 Oklahoma remained the Big 12's only unbeaten team in conference play. Texas Tech (7-8, 2-2) was without head coach Marsha Sharp, who was briefly hospitalized earlier in the day after suffering flu-like symptoms during a shootaround at the Lloyd Noble Center.
