PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Aaron Gray scored nine of his 20 points in the final 3 minutes to help No. 9 Pittsburgh remain undefeated with a 76-68 victory over Rutgers on Wednesday night.
The win kept Pitt (15-0, 4-0 Big East) one of three unbeaten Division I teams along with No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Florida, both of which won Wednesday.
Levon Kendall had 14 points to lead four other Panthers in double figures.
Quincy Douby, the Big East's leading scorer at 23.3 points per game, had 27 for Rutgers (12-5, 2-2), which scored only five points in the first 17 minutes of the second half as Pitt slowly pulled away.
No. 1 Duke 81, No. 14 N.C. State 68
DURHAM, N.C. -- Sean Dockery saved Duke again. This time, he didn't wait until the final buzzer.
With the top-ranked Blue Devils' unbeaten record on the line, Dockery made a go-ahead 3-pointer and set up another an instant later by Lee Melchionni to help them beat North Carolina State.
J.J. Redick had 28 points and Shelden Williams added 21, but it was Dockery's plays down the stretch that helped Duke reach 17-0 (5-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) for only the second time. The other was during a run to the NCAA title in 1992.
No. 2 Florida 113, Savannah St. 62
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Joakim Noah had 21 points on 10-for-10 shooting, reserve Walter Hodge added 18 points and No. 2 Florida remained unbeaten.
The Gators extended the best start and longest winning streak in school history, and finished undefeated in non-conference play for the first time in coach Billy Donovan's 10 seasons.
Florida (17-0) returns to the Southeastern Conference on Saturday at Tennessee, which should provide a much tougher test that Savannah State (1-18).
No. 4 Memphis 88, Tennessee 79
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Shawne Williams had 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Rodney Carney added 22 points for Memphis.
Carney was 8-of 17 from the field, while Williams was 8-of-16 as Memphis did not take a double-digit lead until the final 4:04.
Darius Washington added 17 points and five assists, while Chris Douglas-Roberts finished with 11 points for Tigers (16-2), who won their fifth straight. Wiliams had four blocks.
No. 23 Iowa 76, Minnesota 72, 3 OT
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Erek Hansen scored a career-high 20 points and No. 23 Iowa relied on clutch free throw shooting to beat Minnesota in the first triple-overtime game played in Carver Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa (14-4, 3-1 Big Ten) made nine straight free throws during a stretch of the second and third overtimes, while the Gophers (9-6, 0-4) went 5-of-12 from the line in the extra periods, including missing four straight when they had a chance to seal the victory in the final minute of the second overtime.
