"The War that Made America" (9 p.m., PBS): This new four-part documentary series that tells the little-known and oft-misunderstood story of the French and Indian War (1754-1763), which set in motion forces that would culminate in the American Revolution. The excellent series, produced by WQED-Pittsburgh, shines light on the military career of George Washington, and should be of special interest to western Pennsylvanians, because of the key role the area played in the war. Graham Greene hosts and narrates. Parts 1 and 2 air tonight, and parts 3 and 4 air next Wednesday.
"Law & amp; Order" (10 p.m., NBC): Poor journalists. They just can't get a break these days. In tonight's episode of "Law & amp; Order," a reporter is found dead in his bathtub. Initially, it looks like a suicide, but hand marks on his shoulder suggest foul play. Better investigate his editor.
"Skating With Celebrities" (9 p.m., Fox): The novice skaters may not know a triple toe loop from a camel spin, but they're about to learn. Hosted by Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton, this show features six celebrities and six professional skaters who team up to perform figure skating routines. After each week's performance, judges, including Olympic gold medalist Dorothy Hamill, will rate the skaters, and one pair will be eliminated. The show moves to its regular time slot Monday at 8 p.m.
