TAC Edward Kershaw nets 30 to pace Liberty

He made 14-for-18 from the field in a 64-52 victory.
LIBERTY -- Edward Kershaw poured in 30 points in leading the Liberty High boys basketball team to a 64-52 victory over Champion Tuesday in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game.
Kershaw, the 6-foot-5-inch senior forward, connected on 14-of-18 shots, two of them 3-pointers. He also grabbed 11 of the Leopards' (6-4, 3-1) 41 rebounds.
Lonnie Showers added 16 points and Donovan Fletcher pulled down 10 rebounds. Mychal Doblanski had seven assists.
Mark Jackson led the Golden Flashes with 17 points and eight rebounds while Markel Vaughn finished with 16 points.
LaBrae 62,Hubbard 52
HUBBARD -- Danny Hartman scored 19 points while Mike Ryan connected for 12 for the Vikings. Jeff Morgan scored nine.
For the Eagles (3-6, 2-2 TAC), Corey Hitt scored 18 points while Frank Rosile had 14.
Brookfield 51, Newton Falls 46
BROOKFIELD -- Josh Harkulich scored 18 points and Chris Bombeck added 14 for the Warriors.
Matt Dillon paced the Tigers with 18 points and Todd Medallis chipped in with 11. Three of his baskets were from 3-point range.
Lakeview 78,Girard 51
CORTLAND -- Dustin Opalka, Mark Seger, Eddie Mackiewica and Kevin Albert accounted for 53 of the Bulldogs' points.
The Bulldogs (7-3, 3-1 TAC) put the game out of reach with a 27-11 surge in the third quarter.
Opalka pace Lakeview with 18 points. Seger, Mackiewicz and Albert chipped in with 13, 12 and 10, respectively.
Mike Marando grabbed seven of Lakeview's 34 rebounds and Jon Kittle had five assists.
Jon Smerchansky led the Indians (1-9, 1-3) with 12 points. Brett Cibellis added 11 and Brett Dutton and Eric Stevens each had 10.
Lordstown 46,Badger 22
KINSMAN -- Brandon Wickline scored 19 points to lead Lordstown (5-5, 4-2 Northeast Athletic Conference), which bounced to a 24-5 halftime lead.
Zach Sutliff added nine points, Hugo Mendez eight points and five assists and Nate Rech four points and as many rebounds to aid the Red Devils.
Josh Shreves and Eric Bonar each had four points for Badger.
