Woman accused of killing father in dispute over television program

FREMONT, Ohio (AP) -- A woman stabbed her father to death with a steak knife and wounded two children after a dispute about what to watch on TV, authorities said.
Lona Rios, 45, was being held in the Sandusky County Jail on one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder in Saturday night's attack. Her arraignment was set for today and did not have an attorney as of Monday evening.
According to police, Rios' father, 69-year-old Hilario Rios, and an 8-year-old friend of her niece were watching a movie called "Seventeen Again," but Lona Rios wanted to see football.
Following an argument, she went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and stabbed her father in the chest, police said. He was found unconscious on the floor when officers arrived and died about an hour later at Fremont Memorial Hospital.
Police had responded to a 911 hang-up call from Lona Rios' 9-year-old niece and the girl's friend. The children, whom police did not identify, also were stabbed, on their backs. They received stitches at the Fremont hospital and were later released.
Police said after she wounded her father and the two girls, Lona Rios put the knife back in its kitchen drawer and went upstairs to her bedroom until officers arrived.
