Police officers arrest 3rd suspect in kidnapping of Miami student

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -- Police arrested the third of three suspects in the kidnapping, beating and robbery of a Miami University student -- one of three recent crimes against students at the southwest Ohio school.
Seth Jett, 21, of Richmond, Ind., was charged Sunday with kidnapping, aggravated robbery and felonious assault. He was being held on $300,000 bond in Wayne County, Ind.
Police previously arrested Katrina Jones, 18, of Oxford, and her cousin, Sydney Jones, 24, also of Richmond, on the same charges in the Friday-morning abduction of a 19-year-old man. The victim was beaten, robbed and dumped just across the state line in Indiana.
The attack was the third of three crimes against Miami students within a week. A 21-year-old woman was raped and robbed last Monday by a man wearing a ski mask, and a male student said he was awakened Wednesday morning by an armed intruder who then fled, according to police.
Police said they don't believe the cases are linked, but urged students to use extra caution.
Sgt. Jim Squance said Oxford police investigators traveled to Kentucky to retrieve the van suspected of being used in the crime and to interview Sydney Jones, who's in jail near Irvine, Ky., on $300,000 bond.
Katrina Jones, in the Wayne County, Ind., jail on $300,000 bond, was scheduled to appear before an Indiana magistrate Tuesday before being extradited to Ohio.
