McNees' 41 points key Shenango

SHENANGO -- Senior point guard Steve McNees scored 41 points in leading the Shenango High boys basketball team to an 85-57 victory over Laurel Friday in a Section 2-A Conference game.
Averaging 31 points a game, McNees scored 12 of his points in the first quarter, 13 in the second quarter and 15 in the third. After making a point in the final period he was taken out of the contest.
He made 6-of-9 shots from 3-point range, 12-of-20 field goals and 11-of-13 free throws. He had six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Wildcats (12-3, 3-0) had a 39-25 rebounding advantage.
The Spartans were led by Marcus Cook with 12 points.
