Carwash customer suspected of stealing

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police said a man who stopped at Barber's Best Hand Wash at 2509 Mahoning Ave., asking if washing his car would remove white paint from his rear bumper, is suspected of stealing cash from the business.
Owner Stan Barber said the man came in around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, had his car washed and then asked Barber to examine the rear bumper, saying he had been in an accident. The man stayed in the office while Barber looked at the car.
Barber said he told the man that washing the car wouldn't remove the paint and the man left. Barber said he then checked his cash register and discovered that two $50 bills and a number of $20 bills were missing.
