Westminster rolls behind Ackerman's 23
The Titans routed Catham 56-26 for their third win.
PITTSBURGH -- Sophomore Emilee Ackerman scored a game-high 23 points as Westminster routed Catham 56-26.
The Titans (3-11) forced 25 turnovers and posted a 44-29 rebounding advantage. Westminster also held Chatham (0-11) to just nine total field goals and 20.9 percent accuracy from the field.
Grove City 53, La Roche 40
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Jennifer Wiley and Rachel McCoy each scored 13 points for Grove City (4-9), which outscored La Roche 34-18 in the second half. The point total was a career-high for Wiley, while McCoy, a Beaver Local High graduate, set a career-best with 17 rebounds and tied her best with six blocks. Beverly Kitchens scored 15 points to lead La Roche (1-8).
West Liberty 79, Shepherd 76
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Renee Farina (Salem) hit a pair of free throws with one second left to clinch the victory. Farina scored a game-high 26 points with eight 3-pointers for West Liberty (8-1, 2-0 WVIAC). Farina ranks second in Div. II with 3.9 3-pointers per game.
Case Western 80, Bethany 49
CLEVELAND -- Case Western (8-0) outscored Bethany 48-20 in the paint and held a 55-32 rebounding advantage.
Senior forward Jenny Place, a Badger High graduate, scored a game high 17 points and added eight rebounds for the Bison (4-10). Lisa Mitchell added 11 points. The Spartans placed four in double figures, led by Amber Hammell with 13. Forward Ashley Horton recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards, while Dana Dempsey had 11 points and Andrea Haylett scored 10.
