NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Springfield Township trustees are changing their meeting time. Meetings will be at 8 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month. The next meeting is at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the township administration building, 3475 E. South Range Road.
Art and books event
HOWLAND -- The children's staff of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library's Branch Services Department and the Butler Institute of American Art in Howland will offer a blend of art and books during a family program at 2 p.m. Jan. 21.
The family series is called "Reading and Other Forms of Art" and encourages adults and children to work together to connect books and art in a museum atmosphere. The program will be at the Butler's Trumbull County Branch, 9350 E. Market St.
Staff from the library will present stories, and art educators from the Butler will present a companion craft.
The program is free and open to the public, geared for children ages 5-12 with accompanying adult. Registration is not required.

Organ donation program
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Elizabeth Health Center is participating in the national organ Transplantation Breakthrough Collaborative in an effort to significantly increase the number of organs transplanted.
Part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Gift of Life Donation Initiative, the collaboration includes Northeast Ohio hospitals and LifeBanc, an organ procurement and tissue recovery agency.
They will focus on increasing the number of transplant recipients per organ donor from 3.06 to 3.75 or more.

Supporting prevention
WARREN -- Mayor Michael O'Brien and Police Chief John Mandopoulos will present a $5,000 donation from the city police department to Kenneth Lloyd, president of the Community Solutions Association, at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the mayor's office.
The donation, which supports alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs, will fund a summer camp for youths 11-15, living in Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority communities.
